Organic natural Rooibos red tea

Rooibos is an infusion made from the leaves of Aspalathus linearis, a plant that grows exclusively in the Cederberg region of South Africa. After harvesting, the leaves are crushed, fermented, and dried.

Rooibos is naturally caffeine-free and contains many antioxidants including vitamin C as well as minerals such as magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, fluoride and potassium.

How to use it?

The drink is prepared by infusion, with slightly longer times than classic tea

Rooibos has a sweet flavor, even without added sugar. Its color is a beautiful reddish-brown.

PEOPLE WHO USE IT

Rooibos has been used for centuries in South Africa by the local Khoisan people who inhabit the area and who have always known its properties.

CURIOSITY'

The first attempt at large-scale cultivation of rooibos was a disaster. The tiny seeds, barely larger than a grain of sand, are difficult to track down and collect. Only by chance did farmers notice that ants were also doing the same job of searching for the plant's seeds. Following them to their nest, they discovered that inside was a large deposit of seeds and that these small but numerous creatures could perform the work of collecting rooibos seeds more efficiently than humans.
