Collection: Red Tea
With the term red tea In the West, it is normally understood as Rooibos, or Aspalathus linearis, a botanical also known by the Afrikaans name of rooibos. It is a plant belonging to the Fabaceae family (it is not the Camellia Sinensis of green/black tea). Its leaves are used to prepare an infusion, naturally free of theine, also called African red tea and which can also be made with the HoneyBush botanical.
Rooibos and Honeybush teas are naturally free of caffeine and tannic acid , which is why they are very simple to prepare and suitable for everyone, both adults and children, and even for those who cannot normally drink black tea because it causes stomach problems.
It's a tea that can be prepared by anyone without any particular attention, in fact, the more or less long infusion times have no disruptive effect on the flavor of the infusion produced and it always remains perfectly pleasant in the cup.
Our "super grade" rooibos is repeatedly sifted to ensure a uniform, high-quality product. Its needles are long and uniform, indicating a premium product that is clearly distinct from a tea that is simply "select grade."
Both Rooibos and HoneyBush teas can be flavoured with fruit or spices and their naturally sweet flavour allows you to drink a pleasantly tasty infusion without adding sugar.
